Faith -n- Fiction Saturday - Upcoming Releases

Today's Question:There are a lot of great new books being published in 2009! But which ones are you the most excited about? Please pick some Christian fiction books you are excited to read this year and tell us all about them! But just to give this a little twist...be sure to visit everyone else's posts and find some books you might be interested in reading as well that are different from your picks! It will come in handy for a fun bonus question next week!

Amy, this is a tough one! Have you SEEN all of the stuff planned for 2009? Just yesterday I was cruising all of the publisher's websites and the "coming soon" features and just drooled! Needless to say, this is a tough question for those of us who love to read! I'm going to TRY...and I emphasize this word because I'm sure there are books out there I don't know to anticipate...to list a few of my obvious upcoming reads. Did I say this was HARD? Okay....

Robert Liparulo can keep me on the edge of my seat!! Listen to this:

John Hutchinson believes that billionaire military industrialist Brendan Page and his modern Praetorian Guard had something to do with the atrocities his son Declan committed in Canada. The Canadian and U.S. Justice departments disagree, but Hutch has been digging for dirt ever since. When Hutch discovers the secret of Page's success, Page sends him a warning. But the operation goes terribly wrong, and Hutch's son is kidnapped.

While a lone man stands little chance against the best black op soldiers ever issued M-16s, Hutch proves to be a stronger opponent than Page imagined. As far as Hutch is concerned, high-tech helmets, machine guns, and hand grenades are nothing compared to a man determined to save his son. It's a lesson he sets out to teach Page—and one that he can only hope works as well in the real world as it does in his heart.

Nancy Moser's Ladies of History series will be adding someone new...Elizabeth Barrett!! I adore these books! They are powerful! Listen to this:

About the book: How Do I Love Thee?

The year is 1845. Elizabeth Barrett is a published poet--and a virtual prisoner in her own home. Blind family loyalty ties her to a tyrannical father who forbids any of his children to marry. She has resigned herself to simply existing. That is, until the letter arrives...

"I love your verses with all my heart," writes Robert Browning, an admiring fellow poet. And as friendly correspondence gives way to something more, Elizabeth discovers that Robert's love is not for her words alone. Could it be that God might grant her more than mere existence? And can she risk defying her father in pursuit of true happiness?

This is the tetative cover for book 4 in Robert Liparulo's Dreamhouse Kings series. My boys had the privilege of being advanced readers for the third book in the series GateKeepers, so this series has a very special place in my heart! Not to mention...it's a FABULOUS series! I can't find any blurbs about it yet, but it is scheduled for release in June. I can't WAIT!!! Robert's cliffhangers are killing me!

Now, no more pictures. That is a personal challenge to me and frankly, with a dial-up connection, tries my patience. So....I will tell you that Julie Lessman's Passion Denied is another one on my radar. There is also Tamara Alexander's TWO releases...The Inheritance and Beyond This Moment. I LOVE her stories! And what about Ted Dekker and Erin Healy's second duet Burn?! I know Kiss just released, but once you have read it, you really want to read the next story by this new talent duo!
Amy, there are too many. I'm going to stop here. Every year I look forward to the Coming Soon pages on retail sites and publisher's websites. It is sooo exciting! I can't WAIT!!
