As standards of conduct continue to erode in our shock-proof world, we must fight the soul pollution threatening our health, our faith, and our witness to others. Without even knowing it, people willingly inhale second-hand toxins poisoning their relationship with God and stunting their spiritual growth.
Soul Detox examines the toxins that assault us daily including: toxic influences, toxic emotions, and toxic behaviors.
By examining the toxins that assault us daily, this book offers the ultimate spiritual intervention with ways to remain clean, pure, and focused on the standard of God’s holiness.
My Thoughts:
“As we become scarred and desensitized to what is right and
wrong, good and evil, life-giving and life-draining, we lose sight of our first
love. We move away from God one degree
at a time.”
Craig Groeschel has written a very important book. Soul Detox holds the keys to spiritual
freedom in Christ alone. Craig takes a
look at the poisons in our everyday life: deception, septic thoughts, lethal
language, bitterness, envy, anger, materialism, cultural toxins, unhealthy
relationships…and many other avenues through which Satan tries to lure us away
from Christ. This is not a dry “do this”
and “don’t do that” type of book. The
author is honest and open with his thoughts, his Scriptural admonitions, and
examples of his own life experiences that allows the reader to see God
transforming lives.
I’ll be honest, I did a lot of highlighting in this book!
Once again, God was revealing Truth to my heart and convicting me of toxic
areas in my own life and heart. Yet another God appointment in my life for
which I am deeply grateful!
I highly recommend this book if you are interested in taking
an honest look at your heart and cleaning house. Soul Detox will draw you
closer to God and allow you to live in the light of His glorious grace!!
