I Blame Eve by Susanna Foth Aughtmon - REVIEWED

About the Book: (from Revell Publishing)
When Eve ate the fruit, we lost out on the perfect life. But that doesn't stop us from trying, does it? What would happen if we stopped trying to be perfect and started trying to be his?
In this encouraging book, Susanna Foth Aughtmon helps you find out what it means to be honest about what you crave in life and let go of your deep need to be in control. With a skillful blend of Scripture, insight, and humor, she shows you the freedom of embracing the unique path God has laid out for you. The study questions included will help you or your small group make the most of this fun and fascinating book.

My Thoughts:
"We wonder how we can be so far from the place we are spuuosed to be and the pserson we are meant to be. We wonder how we can feel so hopeliss and so desperate when we are giving it our all in this life we've been given.

Well, it begins the same way for us as it began for our sister Eve.  It begins with the voice of doubt and chaos, the voice that invites us to wonder if we don't deserve more than we've been given.  It begins with the thought that no one can tell us what to do.  It begins with a hiss and a mirthless laugh as we wander far away from the heart of the One who breathed life into us.  It begins with a snake."
(p28-29)

This is the first of many passages that I highlighted in this book.  Susanna Foth Aughtmon has written to the very heart of all women/believer's who struggle to be all that God calls them to be without believing the world's lie that they are never enough.  SUCH a needed tool!!  Taking the reader through the truth of God's Word, Aughtmon speaks from her heart and directly to the reader.

I know that I've got a special book in my hands when I'm highlighting entire passages and then stopping to pray about a truth - either positive or negative - that God has shined His light on in my heart. If you want to gain God's perspective on many areas of your daily life, please pick up a copy of this book today!  It has been a real God-appointment for me! Brilliant!!
