You Were Born for This by Bruce Wilkinson with David Kopp - My Thoughts

BOOK SUMMARY:

His New York Times phenomenon The Prayer of Jabez changed how millions pray. Now Bruce Wilkinson wants to change what they do next.

Anyone can do a good deed, but some good works can only happen by a direct intervention from God. Around the world these acts are called miracles—not that even religious people expect to see one any time soon. But what would happen if millions of ordinary people walked out each morning expecting God to deliver a miracle through them to a person in need? You Were Born for This starts with the dramatic premise that everyone at all times is in need of a miracle, and that God is ready to meet those needs supernaturally through ordinary people who are willing to learn the “protocol of heaven.”

In the straightforward, story-driven, highly motivating style for which he is known, Wilkinson describes how anyone can be a “Delivery Guy” from heaven in such universally significant arenas of life as finances, practical help, relationships, purpose, and spiritual growth.

You Were Born for This will change how readers see their world, and what they expect God can do through them to meet real needs. They will master seven simple tools of service, and come to say with confidence, “I want to deliver a supernatural gift from God to someone in need today—and I expect to!”

MY THOUGHTS:

Just a few days ago I was blessed to be a messenger for God and experience a miracle like Bruce Wilkinson talks about it his book You Were Born For This. I have served as a volunteer at a women's rehab facility for more than two years now, and through my service God worked in the heart of someone I work with to deliver a miracle for the ladies at the rehab facility. The lady I work with was going through the heart-breaking experience of watching her church close down and be sold. The monies had to be distributed to non-profit organiazations in the area, and my co-worker chose to donate her portion of the funds to the rehab facility. Because of her testimony, another lady also chose to donate her funds, and the rehab facility received a large donation.

What neither women, nor I knew at the time was that the ministry was in dire need of the funds. The economy has dealt a financial blow to donations, and the same morning I received the first check the staff had been told they would not be paid that week. Earnest prayers were going up to meet a need, and God provided abundantly. I was simply the messenger of a miracle. All Praise To GOD alone for His great provision!

Bruce Wilkenson outlines some basic Bible principles that will allow you to become a miracle messenger. You can serve God in new and exciting ways and watch Him work in mighty ways in the lives of all those around you. This is a neat book folks. We serve a MIGHTY GOD!! What a blessing to belong to Him and through Him touch other lives for all eternity!
