About the Book: (from Revell publishing)
The police say her father's death was suicide. Kelly Warren says it was
murder--and she has new evidence to prove it. Detective Cole Taylor doesn't put
much credence in her claim, and nothing in his case review suggests foul play.
But when he digs deeper (delete dash) and discovers startling information
linking her to a long-buried secret, the danger escalates. Is history repeating
itself? And who wants Kelly silenced? My Thoughts:
I’m hard pressed to decide what elements of Irene Hannon’s
novels I like best!! Detective Cole
Taylor had an incredible family, and he has friends that love him and stand
beside him through any storm. In short,
the relationships that are built throughout this series are realistic and rock
solid! I feel deeply about the
characters. That is a very good quality
to have when the characters find themselves
in a series of explosive situations – life and death situations – racing
against the clock to save a life, or capture a really evil bad guy. Again, Hannon outdoes herself in creating an
ever increasing amount of tension and danger as the story develops. By the end,
you are holding your breath frequently as you race through the pages to find
out what happens to the characters you have come to care so deeply about. That makes for a great read!
Oh, and lest I forget, there is another element to Hannon’s
novels that keep the reader guessing and that keeps the pages flying by…romance. The relationships that come about in Lethal
Legacy happen in a very natural, sometimes resistant way. And one other thing….she weaves some very
realistic struggles of faith throughout her story that make you care all the
more for her characters. See, I told
you, it’s hard to determine what elements are my favorite! Any title with Irene Hannon’s name on the
cover is going to be a thrill ride in many areas! Trust me!
And Cole Taylor is the central character of this story. He winds up trying to help Kelly Warren
answer some nagging questions about her father’s death. Each chapter reveals some sort of clue, and
when it becomes apparent that Kelly’s life in now the target for those who don’t
want her to uncover the truth she seeks concerning her dad….well, let’s just
say things get very exciting by the end of the book! And the bad guy? Hidden in plain sight! I love that about Hannon’s
writing too!! She is just a favorite!
It looks like Lethal Legacy will end her Heroes of Quantico series,
and she will begin a new series next Spring!
Lots to look forward to!! I can’t wait!
