Beautiful Battlefields
is a book that explores some hard places in the lives of believers. The author explores beauty that certainly
exists in the most difficult circumstances of life and shows others how to mine
that beauty for themselves. She also
helps readers gain a perspective that enables them to allow God to do His
transforming work in our lives.
When that transformation begins and we begin to fully trust
our Creator and His unending faithfulness, we are ready to engage in some practical
means of growing stronger within our circumstances. The security of God’s Word, the obedience we
practice in our lives in response to that truth, generosity, godly friends,
forgiveness, courage – all are part of God’s glorious design that allows us to
worship Him in every single circumstance.
What a powerful book!!
The author shares her journey into the medical uncertainty
of ALS. She walks by her husband’s side
as the muscles in his body slowly begin to stop functioning. Through this journey, God has allowed her to
mature and grow in ways she could never imagine. Beautiful Battlefields is the result (one of
many) of her obedience to God.
I cannot being to tell you the powerful effect this book has
had on my life! I know the Lord has anointed
this book and many lives will intersect its pages at a critical moment – a life
changing moment!
About the Author:
Bo Stern knows the most beautiful things can come out of the hardest times. Her Goliath came in the form of her husband's terminal illness, a battle they are still fighting with the help of their four children, a veritable army of friends, and our extraordinary God. Bo is a teaching pastor at Westside Church in Bend, Oregon.
