Taken by Brock Eastman - REVIEWED

About the book: (frm the publisher)

"Five—Four—Three—Two—One!” “We’re out of here!” Suit up! Jump into hyper flight with the four Wikk kids! Forced into a high stakes hunt for their missing parents by the sinister Cpt. Vedrik, the siblings’ only hope is their parents’ Archeos e-journal. Can Tiffany decipher the clues within it? As time runs out, it’s all up to Oliver and his Federation training to fly the Phoenix and protect his crew. But twins Mason and Austin endanger the mission when they unexpectedly meet . . . the blue boy! The Quest for Truth series unfolds as the four Wikk kids are thrust into a desperate race to find the mysterious planet Ursprung and stop the Übel renegades from misusing its long-lost secrets. Ancient cities, treacherous villains, high-tech gadgets, the Phoenix—encounter all of these and more on this futuristic, interplanetary adventure!

My Son's Thoughts: (he's 17)

Meet the Wikk children; Oliver, oldest of the children and cadet of the Federal star fleet academy and expert pilot, Tiffany decipherer of clues and older sister to the twins, Mason and Austin, adventurers’ and identical twins. None of this sounds normal but then again nothing about the Wikk childrens’ lives is normal. Their parents are kidnapped by an evil secret organization and the children are their only chance of rescue.

Taken is geared toward a younger audience so it reads like a jr. version of Star Trek - jumping into hyper space and discovering new worlds and life forms. The book is well written and is fast paced. I enjoyed reading it. So follow the Wikk children as they find out how to rescue their parents and the identity of that little blue person!

Come back tomorrow when I share an interview with Brock and offer a give away of his new book!!

About the Author:

Brock D. Eastman likes to write, but his main focus is on his wonderful wife and two daughters. They reside at the base of America’s mountain, and are learning to call Colorado home. However, they sometimes need to visit the comfortable cornfields and hospitality of the Midwest, especially during the harvest.

Brock is Product Marketing Manager at Focus on the Family, where he has the privilege to work on the world renown Adventures in Odyssey brand, a show his dad got him hooked on when he was little boy.

He started writing The Quest for Truth series in 2005 and 5 years later, with his wife’s encouragement, signed a publishing deal. He’s always thinking of his next story and totes a thumb-drive full of ideas.

Thanks for the great lead on a new series/author for my school libraries! Love it when other people do the legwork for me. :-)
