The Blue Enchantress by M.L. Tyndall - My Review

Let all the main and foretopsails! You don’t want to miss a moment of the adventure in Mary Lu Tyndall’s second installment of the Charles Towne Belles series – The Blue Enchantress! When last we parted ways in The Red Siren, Faith was about to be tried as a pirate. In spite of her sister’s dire plight, Hope had chosen to steal away aboard the shop of her lover, Lord Faukland, leaving Faith to the mercy of the judge. Hope had but one goal in mind – to satisfy her longing for love and acceptance in the eyes of a man.

If you’ve read The Red Siren, you already know of Faith’s story, but you will never imagine where Hope’s selfish pursuit of male companionship will lead her! The Blue Enchantress opens up with Hope in straights more dire than her pirate sister ever faced! Yet it is in her darkest circumstances that God introduces, or rather re-introduces, Nathaniel Mason! (albeit neither of these two characters recognizes God’s hand in any of it at the moment!)

Nathaniel and Hope seem destined to clash again and again throughout this adventuresome tale. Nathaniel is trying to escape the guilt of his own past, and Hope is desperate to find the bare essence of anyone’s affection and escape her own coquettish ways. These two cost each other everything except life itself. (and they barely cling to that sometimes!) Despite the danger and misfortune that seem to dog their paths, neither of them can fathom that God is bringing them together for His purpose alone. Along the way, they become part of a rag tag group of misfortunate souls and for a great while it seems as if it will be every man (or woman) for himself!

The Blue Enchantress is as wildly adventuresome as any pirate tale ever conceived! Mary Lu Tyndall understands that the real battles in this life are waged in the spiritual realm for the eternal souls of those God loves. She believably and seamlessly weaves powerful faith, God’s miraculous power to redeem, and spiritual conflict throughout the story without sparing an ounce of adventure and romance! Truly, she is a gifted writer and leaves the reader both satisfied and breathless!

And the ending? Oh my!! I love it!! For the Spring of 2010 promises the grandest adventure yet for the third daughter of the Charles Towne Belles! I eagerly await another grand excursion upon the high seas with a crew that only God and Mary Lu Tyndall’s imagination could conceive! I absolutely can’t WAIT! I adore this series!

Now, let’s get crackin’! There be souls to save and lives to defend! Arghhhh!!!
