The more I learn of Kathi Macias, the more I know that she has a heart for God’s Word and she has a gift for sharing that with others through the written word. I was given the opportunity to read her book, Mothers of the Bible Speak to Mothers of Today, and I must say it was a real blessing!
In this book, Kathi takes an up-close look at fifteen women in the Bible, and how their experiences can be used to teach and guide today’s wives and mothers. Some characters are already well-known, like Eve, while others have more minor roles like the Widow of Zarephath. However, all of these women, based upon close examination of Scripture and a study of the time in which they lived, have a unique and powerful message that can serve as profound life-lessons for all women today. Kathi has a wonderful way of making practical application in each situation, and she really brings the life experiences into heart-focus by the end of each chapter.
In addition to the great lessons within each chapter, Kathi’s book offers an abundance of Scripture references both within the body of the chapter as well as a list of additional references to aid in individual study. She then closes each chapter with thought-provoking questions that make life application to women of today. The questions could be either journaled or discussed and serve to embed the Scripture lessons into the heart and mind of the reader. Kathi’s prayers that are written at the close of each chapter are one of my favorite features of this terrific book! I feel as though I’ve been prayed for by a friend and sister in Christ, and I know that Kathi’s heart longs for Christ to do a mighty work in the lives of all that read her work.
Mothers of the Bible Speak to Mothers of Today is beautifully presented and would make a great gift for all the mothers who have touched your life in some way. I think this would also make an appropriate study for a small-group or Sunday school class and that the questions would be the beginning of some very meaningful and blessed discussions. One thing I know for certain, Kathi Macias loves the Lord and she loves studying His Word! I am thankful that she has shared the lives of so many women of the Bible with so many women of today!

That book sounds really neat! I'm sure my mother would love something like that... Today I'm going to Mother-daughter tea with my grandmother and mother, and I am reminded that tomorrow is Mother's Day! It came up so fast! But wonderful mothers and grandmothers like mine are such blessings! They deserve to be told that every day!
Anyway, I'd love to be signed up for the drawing! Thanks for the opportunity to win!
Ashley would have a COW if I didn't sign up for this drawing for the Ted Dekker book alone! :)
