My Thoughts:
“When you know where you’re going, you’re always headed
home.” (Where You’re Going – chorus)
Gary Chapman’s latest project, The Truth, is a brutally
honest, poignant and realistic picture of a lot of Christians’ every day
struggles and relationship with Christ. This is a 16-song album packed with everything
from toe-tapping songs to gentle, lyrical worship hymns. There is something for everyone on this album,
and I think believers of every age will find thought-provoking truth in every
song! This is a RICH album!
How Great A God is
my favorite song, and I am blessed every single time I listen and worship to
its message! This song is a beautiful
anthem of grace! The Rough Crowd
contains a reminder that believers need hear – that God redeems and transforms
lives in unmistakable, undeniable ways! Safe from the Wind is another favorite –
a lilting reminder that we have a refuge in Christ no matter what changes blow
through our lives. When I Say is another very honest look into the daily walk of a
Christian – a bold statement that without God we can do nothing – a humble
statement of faith by someone who knows what it feels like to be broken.
Gary Chapman has walked a broken road at times in his life,
but I think The Truth is an honest
representation of the anchor that has enabled him to weather the storms of life
and still know the love of Christ. I
think many lives will be encouraged and strengthened by the message found in
the words of this project. I am happy to
recommend this to everyone!
