A Great Catch by Lorna Seilstad - REVIEWED

About the Book: (from the publisher)
She wants to change the world.
He wants to change her mind.

It's the beginning of a new century at Lake Manawa resort in Iowa, but some things never change. When Emily Graham's meddlesome aunts and grandmother take it upon themselves to find her a husband among the resort guests, the spunky suffragist is determined to politely decline each and every suitor. She has neither the time nor the need for a man in her busy life.

Carter Stockton, a recent college graduate and a pitcher for the Manawa Owls baseball team, intends to enjoy every minute of the summer before he is forced into the straitlaced business world of his father.

When their worlds collide, neither Emily nor Carter could have guessed what would come next. Will Carter strike out? Or will Emily cast her vote for a love that might cost her dreams?

The perfect summer novel, A Great Catch will enchant you with its breezy setting and endearing characters.

My Thoughts:

And when she stepped into the path of those horses earlier today, he’d know the truth when his heart stopped.

He’d been licked.

But what a way to go. (p. 127)

Lorna Seilstad has created the most unforgettable relationship between the most unlikely man and woman that has ever graced the pages of a book! Carter Stockton has to rescue Emily Graham from a lot more than horses in this story! Have mercy! I have laughed, chuckled, gasped and smiled so many times during my time with this book! This is such a fun read!

If you are looking for the perfect summer reading experience, look no further than A Great Catch! I adored Emily’s family! Those two aunts and her grandmother were so much fun! And then her brother and sister-in-law added spiritual depth and challenges that are familiar to us all. And even though I’ve never played baseball a day in my life, Carter sure made me want to try! And he did so much for Emily! Well, and she did a lot for him too! What a GREAT time watching this relationship grow!

A Great Catch is just what the title says it is – GREAT!
