About the Book:
She doesn't know who she's running from--and the man she loves may be someone else entirely
Summer Abernathy wakes up one morning to find her husband missing, three men in her home intent on finding him, and the life she's been living based on a lie. Which Kyle Abernathy did she marry? The computer programmer she met in line at the bank? Or the one who was apparently using that image as a cover?
The search for her husband--and answers--takes Summer ever deeper into a world of organized crime where people are used one moment and discarded the next. And with her deepest relationship of trust already shattered, Summer doesn't know who to believe.
Always thrilling, bestselling author Lynette Eason outdoes herself in this taut, breakneck story of lies, loyalties, and love that will have you up all night to discover the truth hidden in the shadows.
My Thoughts:
“Betrayal. There was
no way to pretty it up.” (p. 312)
Lynette Eason has done it again! Have mercy!
No One To Trust has more twists and turns that you will ever be able to
imagine! Summer Abernathy (one of the
main characters) thinks she has been dropped into an action adventure movie,
and she’s not the only one! Kyle Abernathy is pretty used to this madness…but
no one knows that initially. By the time
the truth begins to surface there are so many layers of deception it takes
every single one of the books 330 pages to sort it out!
And the sorting out of it all is anything but neat and
clean! There is a mob family, a very
disturbing “hobby” (and I use that term loosely), severe familial and
relational dysfunction and enough gun battles until I was sitting in a crouched
position by the end of the book!
Honestly, there are bad guys hidden everywhere, and just about the time
you begin to relax…watch out!!
Deception. Betrayal. Lies. No matter the word you choose,
this book explores every nook and cranny of this human flaw. No one is left unscathed. Christ does forgive and transform lives, but
the consequences of betrayal come with a price.
Forgiveness isn’t as easy for the characters in the story because trust
has been obliterated. Forgiveness doesn’t
hinge on trust, and it’s a good thing too.
The reader feels this betrayal of trust deeply, and even though efforts
are made to make things right, and even though the efforts are done with the
best of intentions…the cost is still very great.
You DON’T want to miss this novel! Seriously, Lynette Eason ROCKS you world with
this one! Check it out! You won’t be
disappointed!
