Cloud Culture by Chuck Giancinto and Bryce Conlan - Reviewed

About the Book:

In their new book Cloud Culture: Walking the Walk & Typing the Talk: Christian Living in the Social Media World (Seven Leaf Press, 2012), Chuck Giacinto and Bryce Conlan help believers understand how social media fits into their daily walk with Christ and how it can be a mechanism to serve others.

In Cloud Culture, Giacinto and Conlan examine social media technologies to see how they fit into a Christian’s life, as they seek to live out Christ’s kingdom on earth, follow Him, and serve others. Less about social media and more about the need to communicate well, Cloud Culture is a book about communication, how to do it better and how Christians can engage the world through the dynamic and ever-evolving world of social media.

My Thoughts:

So here’s my admonishment to you – be the peculiar people you’re made to be (1 Peter 2:9).  Be the person who includes people from every tongue and tribe among those you call friends.  Join hands with people that you have nothing in common with but Christ himself… and the world will take notice.  Use any means necessary (social media included) to meet and love fellow believers from around the world and keep an open mind that the message that we carry is 100% applicable to everyone, everywhere, at every time.  Period.”  (quote from the Cloud Culture Blog)

If you are reading this blog right now, you are being affected by my words.  You and I may never meet on this earth, but what I say to you through the internet cloud, can be used by God to reach others for all eternity.  What I post online, here or anywhere, should reflect my faith in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  This Cloud Culture is not just a “safe place” to vent.  In fact, as a Christian, I am made to realize anew what a grave and awesome responsibility I have to Christ, because He gave me this place, this platform, these words, to reach others for Him.

If you have a blog, a Twitter account, a Facebook Page or any other internet “place” you call your own, you really need to read Cloud Culture.  Gain a new perspective.  Allow God to mold and make you and ask Him to guide your thoughts and words whenever you come to this Cloud Culture.  It has eternal consequence.  Amazing!!

This is a timely, important book!! (the blog and everything else associated with this book offer great tools for those of us who have an online platform)

Hello,

My name is David and the reason I'm writing is because I have a book coming out this month. I am looking to give a few free copies away to people who are willing to post a review on it (on amazon and on their website if they would like). I wanted to ask if you would like to participate?

The book is titled Jesus Beside Me. It's a collection of 30 mediations on the words of Christ as they appear in Matthew's gospel. The book is both devotional and mindful. I would love if you'd be a part of its launch by reviewing it early.

Thank you for your consideration. I hope you have a great weekend!
