Faith -n- Fiction Saturday: Fictional Leaders

This week's question:Why do you like this fictional leader? What qualities do they possess that you wish our real politicians possessed? On the flip side, who is the worst fictional politician you've read about (or seen on TV) What makes them so bad?

Okay Amy, I have a hard time remembering names in real life, much less fiction, but I'll try! Do lawyers count? Ty Beuchanan in James Scott Bell's Try Darkess and Try Dying comes to mind as a man who really tries to get to the truth of the matter. Davis Bunn also creates good political and legal leaders in his stories that I enjoy. And Randy Singer ALWAYS has a strong lawyer willing to risk it all to get to the truth of the matter.

These three authors have also created some political leaders, but for the life of me, names escape me. For me, the greatest strength is the love for the truth and the willingness to go to great lengths to make sure the truth is known and the deception/lies are revealed. So many of our leaders today don't even recognize truth when its staring them in the face, and that's pretty scary!

Flip side? Again, names escape me, but whether it's in books or t.v, I can't stand someone who pretends to be someone they're not in order to get something devious done. There are lots of those folks out there. That's why we need these strong leaders who are bloodhounds for truth to root them out and get rid of them!

I hope this makes sense. James Scott Bell, Randy Singer and Davis Bunn....these men build STRONG leaders in their fiction as well as some dastardly evil folks to offset them!
