MY REVIEW:

I’ve always wondered why some people grow up and can’t seem to leave their homes fast enough – convinced that the world beyond what they know as familiar is somehow better than all that they have known up to that point. Other folks seem to have a sense of belonging to a place that envelopes them in a security and serenity that almost goes beyond human comprehension. Chris Coppernoll’s second novel A Beautiful Fall explores this phenomenon through the eyes of a successful law partner, Emma Madison, who is called home to Juneberry, South Carolina when her father suddenly becomes ill. Many changes occur during that ten-day stay, but the reader has to wonder, will Emma ever grasp what so plainly lies before her?

This is a tender story about understanding the things that truly define the word “home”. Emma Madison left South Carolina immediately after high school to pursue college and career dreams. What she left behind was true friendship, family love and a sense of belonging that she was convinced she could re-create in a new place far removed from South Carolina. After ten days among the people of Juneberry, Emma realizes something significant has changed, but she remains unable to determine what change has occurred or what she must do about it. She returns to Boston convinced that she will find answers among the trappings of her successful law partnership.

Well, Emma discovers many things upon her return to Boston – none of which I can share with you without spoiling the story. Suffice it to say, if you enjoy a tenderly woven love story set among people who genuinely care for one another then you really must read this book! After all, the Fall season has just begun, and A Beautiful Fall awaits! Purchase your copy today, then cozy up by the fire in the cool of the evening and enjoy this story!
