Trapped by Irene Hannon - REVIEWED

About the Book: (from Revell Publishing)
A runaway teen, a desperate sister, and an intrepid PI determined to discover the truth
When Laura Griffith's sixteen-year-old sister disappears on a frigid February day, leaving only a brief note behind, Laura resolves to do whatever it takes to track down the runaway teen. That includes recruiting ATF agent turned private investigator James Devlin to help. Dev knows time is of the essence with runaways--just forty-eight hours can mean the difference between recovery and ruin.

But the deeper he and Laura dig, the more Dev begins to suspect that something sinister is at work in the girl's disappearance. And in the icy winter weather, the trail is going cold . . .

In her latest thrilling read, queen of romantic suspense Irene Hannon outdoes herself with a fast-paced tale of fear, deception, and just the right dose of romance.

My Thoughts:
He couldn’t save anybody.”  (p. 251)

There are several  characters in Irene Hannon’s latest novel, Trapped, who struggle with the perceived responsibility that they should be able to “save” someone from their circumstance, or their past mistakes.  It seems they have a genuine desire to do what they perceive to be a right decision, when in fact, they are making decisions based on the fear that they will make the same mistake again.  Not a sound decision-making skill.  When Laura Griffeth’s sixteen-your-old sister disappears, Laura immediately seeks the help of James Devlin and his private investigating team.

At first, it seems they will resolve the situation pretty easily, and even the weather seems to be aiding their effort.  No one could ever imagine the evil that lurked among them in plain sight!  When the plot really begins to intensify, I thought it would take a totally different direction!  I was amazed again and again at the unexpected twists and turns I encountered before reaching the final pages!  Good grief!

On top of a really intense and intricate plot line and the fear that seems to drive the characters to make their decisions, Hannon tosses in a seemingly impossibly romantic twist besides!  I thought the romance was about as impossible as any I had encountered in fiction, and like everything else, the resolution was not totally conceived until the end of the story!  Hannon makes you wait for every single discovery no matter if it’s emotional, spiritual or physical!

Be warned, this book alters time!  It will totally evaporate before your very eyes!  Just sayin’!  Another spell-binding read from Irene Hannon!!
