“I don’t know. It doesn’t make sense.  We just decided to check this area last night.  It’s almost as if…”  (p. 45)

WOW!  I wish the Hardy Boys had been as exciting as The Lost Medallion when I was growing up!  Kids are surely in for a Cadillac of a mystery in Bill Muir and Alex Kendrick’s collaboration! Granted, this is a novelization of an already released film, but I am willing to bet stories like this one will make life-long readers out of many young adults!  It excites me to know that this caliber of work is available for young people to read!

Honestly, I’ve seen the movie trailers, and thought this book would be…well, not too readable.  I was very pleasantly surprised!  This book was well-paced, exciting, had many twists and turns and best of all, had a very satisfying ending that left plenty of open doors to present the gospel to unbelievers!  The faith element isn’t too overt, but it is solidly placed in an effective way within the context of the story.  Better yet, the characters are believable and honestly transparent, and that only adds to the depth of the story.

I am all too happy to recommend The Lost Medallion to readers young and old, and it is my deepest desire that this writing duo will create more stories in the future! Great story!!
