Chasing Mona Lisa by Tricia Goyer and Mike Yorkey - REVIEW & CONTEST!!

My Thoughts on this fabulous novel!

“Has God abandoned Paris? Abandoned all of us?” (p 62)

I’m certain many people who lived in Europe during WWII asked this or similar questions. After reading the accounts in Tricia Goyer and Mike Yorkey’s novel, Chasing Mona Lisa, I’m almost convinced that the two authors had a bird’s eye view of the conflict! Except for the fact that neither of them are old enough to have been part of this particular world conflict, I know beyond any doubt that they poured over a lot of information on this war, because they successfully place the reader in the heart of the final liberation of Europe! I lost count of how many times I was gasping or twisting my mouth in a grimace as I read scenes of conflict in which I was certain my characters would not survive!!

Fighting for you life will motivate a person to do a lot of things, and Gabi and Eric are willing to go to great lengths to protect each other and the priceless pieces of art that the Germans are so determined to steal. And that’s another thing I really appreciate about this novel – Goyer and Yorkey really bring to light the depth to which the Nazi regime went to in order to demoralize the countries they conquered – or at least thought they conquered. I can’t wrap my brain around the many things that were permanently lost to the art world during that particular war.

But I digress…Chasing Mona Lisa is a very well-written, suspense-filled novel that will entertain all readers! And the bonus content…the accuracy with which they capture life in the European theatre will lead the reader to look further into the rich history surrounding that time period. This is an excellent book, and one I am happy to recommend!
