Julie Cave has created a fictional scenario in her book, Deadly Disclosures, that is frightening in its reflection of reality. Within these pages she discloses the raging debate between the atheistic, scientific belief of evolution and creation without a creator and the Christian belief that God did indeed create the world and that the Bible and all history surrounding it unequivocally supports these facts. More than that, Cave presents the utter hatred that exists in public education of every level toward Christians and their faith and sets this in stark contrast against the way Christians share their faith without these same elements of distrust and hatred. Cave’s story takes the liberal, aggressive and unrelenting agenda of this intolerant group of scientists to the highest levels of government and displays the true nature of human greed and the hunger to possess the power to obliterate the Christian faith from the planet. Fiction? Or reality? You decide.
When the secretary of the Smithsonian disappears and the FBI is called to investigate, it becomes immediately clear that there is far more at stake than the life of one man. FBI agent Dinah Harris and her partner, Agent David Ferguson, are set center stage in what blossoms into a case involving multiple murders with no evidence of connectivity other than the fact that they are loosely associated with a group of political lobbyists that staunchly and financially support the promotion of evolutionary scientific belief. As their case explodes and expands the reader discovers that Dinah Harris is embroiled in a much more personal battle – one against alcohol, depression and a longing to escape the guilt over the loss of the most precious people in her world. Cave seamlessly intertwines the two scenarios and strategically plays the mounting tension of one off the other until she builds both the federal murder case and Dinah’s personal struggle to survive into a situation that has both the fictional characters and the reader begging for relief!
This is an intelligently written tale that reflects the spiritual battle raging within today’s society. I found the idea of a financially powerful group of political lobbyists all too real. (personally, I think they ARE real and explain the goons that now hold some of the highest political offices in the land!) I enjoyed the way Cave clearly presented the gospel throughout her story using scenarios that were entirely in keeping with the overall plot. Cave knows what she’s writing about and is obviously passionate about her faith and the ability and freedom to defend it. Her novel, Deadly Disclosures, is indeed powerful evidence that God is still using stories to reach the unbeliever with the truth while also encouraging other believers to courageously stand up and defend their faith. I applaud Cave’s work and eagerly look forward to more of her writing!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Cave credits her parents for introducing her to books at a young age, which fostered an enduring passion for reading and writing. As a child, her favourite authors were Enid Blyton and C.S. Lewis and it wasn’t long before she began copying them, writing short stories for anyone who would read them.
At fifteen, two things happened which would shape her future: she heard a creation science speaker at her church which cemented her faith in God; and she finished her second novel-length story and realised she had fallen in love with writing novels.
After school, she completed a health science degree, got married, and worked in banking and finance. All the while she wondered how she could combine her love of writing and her strong passion for Christian apologetics and evangelism. One weekend at a church camp, a friend asked, ‘What if the guy in charge of the Smithsonian Institution went missing?’
The result – and the answer to that question – is Julie’s maiden published novel, Deadly Disclosures. Julie has one daughter and lives in Brisbane, Australia with her family. She divides her time between being a wife, a mother and an author.
