Fit To Be Tied by Robin Lee Hatcher - REVIEWED

Land-o-goshen what a fun read! Robin Lee Hatcher’s Fit To Be Tied is a delightful sequel to A Vote of Confidence, and Cleo’s story is certainly as unique as the character herself! But wait! I’m getting ahead of myself. Cleo Arlington has been living on a horse ranch in Idaho since she was born. Roping, riding, wrangling and honest hard work have been her companions throughout her lifetime. Yet these skills don’t translate into much of what is considered wifely material at the age of twenty-nine. Cleo isn’t worried much about the men folk though, and when she is tasked with teaching an English aristocrat to work as a ranch hand, she is more than ready to meet the challenge! Trouble is, she isn’t prepared to face the true challenge that this wounded man represents.

Sherwood Shatham is a man whose titled English father has sent him to America in an effort to reform his wayward lifestyle. Wounded in the European theatre of war Sherwood bears both physical and emotional scars that he cannot bear to cope with. He agrees to his father’s disciplinary trip to America, but he cannot fathom how he will survive a year in a dry state working on a horse ranch! By far, the most outlandish feature of his isolation proves to be the woman tasked to train him in his new work environment! Never before has Sherwood encountered a lady with more forthright honesty and hardworking ethics than the spitfire named Cleo Arlington!

Readers, I was enchanted with the first book in this series, A Vote of Confidence, and this second installment is even more fun than the first! Adventure, romance, spiritual growth and the love of family all play a pivotal role in this story, and readers will find an abundance of both entertainment and satisfaction by the time they reach the final pages. You’ll certainly never find a more unlikely cast of characters nor a more delightful set of twists and turns as Cleo and Sherwood grow and change throughout the story. And more delightful yet? A Word to the Wise is scheduled to be released in the Spring of 2010, so fans can look forward to returning to Bethlehem Springs yet again!

I say, that’s the way to write Ms. Hatcher!
