A Taste of Fame by Linda Evans Shepherd and Eva Marie Everson - MY REVIEW

Have you ever read a book that made you hungry? Well, I have just made my acquaintance with The Potluck Catering Club in their latest novel, A Taste of Fame, and folks, I’m hungry! These folks can cook, and let me tell you, their culinary skills take them all the way from Summit View, Colorado to New York City to participate in a cook-off reality show against other catering companies from across the U.S. What an incredible ride!

But really, I’m getting ahead of myself. See, The Potluck Club started out as a Bible Study group, and somehow evolved into a full-time catering company. I’m assuming these details can be found in the series’ earlier novels, because there is a LOT of history among the women of this group! What I do know, is that these Christian women are dealing with problems familiar to us all to one degree or another…marital affairs, addiction, wayward children, health problems…you name it, and you’ll find it among the myriad of problems that daily life brings to us all. A Taste of Fame ratchets up the stress level when the women win their way onto a national reality television show and have to spend weeks in New York away from their daily lives. Amid the wonder-world of New York, the mysterious person plotting to sabotage the show and the very confusing relationship problems, this book will keep the pages flying by at a frantic pace to find out what happens next!

I couldn’t imagine what this book could be about when I first signed up for this review opportunity. But I can tell you now, I’m happy to get to know this very special group of ladies and their families. I will eagerly be recommending this series to others while I attempt to backtrack and catch up on all that I have missed.

Oh! And get this! When you get to the end of the book, there are recipes for all the YUMMY dishes served in the novel! I’m particularly fascinated by some peppermint brownies! I love to cook, so this book will now serve a duel role in my kitchen as I try out some of these great recipes! A Taste of Fame is a delicious drama folks! Don’t miss it!
