Intimate Conversations: Devotions to Nuture a Woman's Soul by Alicia Britt Chole - REVIEWED

ABOUT THE BOOK:
(from the publisher)

Do you want to know God intimately?

Intimacy with God is not on pause until we can carve out serene aromatic spaces and control our calendars: intimacy can be realized in every gloriously messy moment of each unpredictable day.

Intimate Conversations leads you on a gentle, encouraging, and accessible journey toward a deeper, more satisfying relationship with God--one that is fueled by his grace and does not flounder with our imperfection or exhaustion. Each of these 52 devotions addresses real-life issues and includes Scripture and questions for reflective prayer or journaling.

In any season, you will cherish how these meditations draw you closer to God in the midst of untidy real life.

MY THOUGHTS:

I have never met Alicia Britt Chole, but when I read the daily devotions in her book Intimate Conversations, I feel like I am sharing worship and fellowship with a friend. Alicia has written brief, heart-felt and poignant insights about what it means to develop an intimate relationship with Father God. The twelve section headings include titles such as; Dear God, Today my Faith Feels Frail, Dear God, Help Me See as You See, Dear God…Please Refresh My Love for You and Dear God…Grant Me Wisdom for This Journey. Within each section are thought-provoking devotions followed by questions and ideas For Discussion and Reflective Journaling. I have been moved to tears a couple of times already by the intimate feeling of friendship displayed in these devotional ides!

Intimate Conversations is going to begin a new devotional journey for me right now. Alicia’s personal, warm style has felt like a cool refreshing drink of water to my soul, and I am going to enjoy going through each entry with her. It is abundantly clear through her writing, that Alicia’s life is centered upon the truth’s of God’s Word, and that she longs to encourage that intimate relationship she has with God among other believers. I am deeply touched by the transparency of her love for Christ, and for anyone looking for a great devotional tool to supplement their daily time in God’s Word, I would recommend this book to you.
